Biography of pianist, composer, performer and teacher Christopher Scobie

Christopher studied music at South Downs College and at the University of Bristol, where he graduated in June 2005.

He has performed regularly both as soloist and accompanist including piano solo in Finzi's Eclogue for Piano and String orchestra in 2004 and in masterclasses with Anthony Rolfe-Johnson and Evelyn Glennie.

In 2003 he was awarded the Sir Thomas Beecham Scholarship for Performance for his undergraduate recital.

Christopher is also active as a composer, having written pieces for Bristol University Wind Orchestra and for the London Sinfonietta, for who he is currently working on a second piece. In November 2007 his Sonatina for Solo Clarinet was performed at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the Park Lane Group's 'Young Composer's Series'. His piece for the City University Symphony Orchestra, "DANCE!" will receive it's premiere in April 2008.

He is currently studying for an MA in Instrumental and Vocal composition with Professor Rhian Samuel at City University, London.
