A Tutorial on music clefs by musician Amonn AL-Mahrouq

 

The most common Clefs are listed below :

In order to fix the positions of notes, a clef is used. The treble and bass clef are most commonly used. In addition, the alto and tenor clefs are in common use today as they reduce the need for many ledger lines, making music easier to read.

The Viola uses the C clef (alto) almost exclusively.

The Bassoon, Cello and Trombone use the C clef (tenor) in their highest register.
