JSP
- Stands for Java Server Pages.
- Created as an alternative to Microsoft's (.Net)
- Uses server side technology.
- Extension to the Java Servlet technology developed by Sun Microsystems.
- Dynamic Scripting - works with php code making your page more functional for the user.
- JSP changes into Java Servlet before it is run. The change is performed the first time the page is run.
- All pages have the extension (.jsp). JSP will work with all operating systems.
- Markup Language for documents containing structured information.
- XML structured information contains both content (eg. Words, pictures) and an indication of what role this content plays.
- All documents have structure.
- Markup Language is a way of
identifying structures in any document.
